How to Download and Run Scratch
- Click here to download the files.
- Save to your Desktop if it asks you where to save.
- When the download has finished, go to the location on your computer where the file was saved. You should see the file "Scratch.zip".
- Right-click "Scratch.zip" and choose "Extract All".
- Click Next, Next, ...., Finish... (whatever you have to do to get to the end and close the window).
- You will now see a normal folder named "Scratch" next the Scratch.zip download.
- Open the folder and double-click "Scratch.exe". It should be the icon with orange cat face:

- Once you can see that Scratch is running, you may delete the "Scratch.zip" file that you downloaded. Enjoy!
Other notes:
- Saved projects are automatically saved to the "Projects" folder
- If you would like to manage the projects that your students save, I would recommend creating a free dropbox account and installing the application on each student computer. Then instruct the students to save their projects to a class folder in the dropbox. This will allow the students to open and save their projects from any computer and give the instructor the ability to see and manage all the projects as well.
